Related Case Study: Clark Altanta University

Clark Atlanta University, an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) in Atlanta, needed to revise their processes and procedures for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs as mandated by a Federal Agency.

The Chief Compliance Officer and I partnered to compose a team of administrators and faculty with first-hand knowledge of the current system. Under my direction, this group collaborated to establish new guidelines. Our goals were to develop a document that would be easy to follow by both staff and students, and to gain approval from the University’s regulatory agency.

I developed a processes and procedures document for Clark Atlanta University. After its first review, the regulatory agency required only one set of changes. Once these were made, the document swiftly received agency approval, was adopted by the University Board of Trustees, and implemented by the University.

“Jackie came into our organization and worked with our team to meet aggressive deadlines. Jackie developed critical documents for the Compliance Office that were adopted by the Board of Trustees. She was easy to work with, worked her scheduled to meet our needs and was a key member of our team.” —  L. Mauge, Chief Compliance Officer, Clark Atlanta University
